Tehran Calls for Banking Ties With Tbilisi
BAKU (IRNA) - Iran said that delay in offering bank services to legal and real entities and lack of banking ties between Georgia and Iran is one of the main problems in developing cooperation between the two countries.
He made the remarks in the 6th joint economic commission meeting of Iran-Georgia in Tbilisi. Many Iranian investors and businessmen are interested to work in Georgia, but the aforementioned problem makes them quit.
He praised Georgian official’s desire for development of economic and commercial ties with Iran, and said that Iran is fully aware of Georgia geo-strategic position.
The ambassador said that Georgia could be a regional hub for Iranian goods to be exported to Europe.
The two countries may be complementary to each other economically and have good cooperation in producing goods.
The 6th joint economic commission meeting kicked off in Tbilisi on Monday and by signing a memorandum of understanding wrapped up its work on Tuesday.
