Turkey Ready to Help Iran in Af­ter­math of Quake

TEHRAN - Turkey is ready to help the broth­erly peo­ple of Iran to elim­i­nate the con­se­quences of the earth­quake, said the Turk­ish For­eign Min­istry in a mes­sage.

Turkey ex­presses its con­do­lences in con­nec­tion with the loss of hu­man life as a re­sult of the earth­quake that oc­curred on Sun­day even­ing, says the mes­sage.

The earth­quake in Iran hit large parts of Iraq and Iran in­clud­ing the Iraqi cap­i­tal Bagh­dad on Sun­day even­ing. The earth­quake death toll in western Iran has reached 207 peo­ple, lo­cal me­dia out­lets re­ported.

The U.S. Ge­o­log­i­cal Sur­vey put the quake at 7.3 mag­ni­tudes, which placed the epi­cen­ter south­west of the city of Hal­abja along the Iraq-Iran bor­der, Reuters re­ported.
