Austria Ready to Cooperate With Mashhad on Tourism
TEHRAN – Austria is ready to cooperate with Mashhad City management on different kinds of tourism like medical or religious and it is also ready to exchange its experience in electric transportation field.
Austrian Ambassador Stefan Scholz had a joint meeting with Mashhad Mayor Ghasem Taghizadeh Khamesi and Mashhad City Council members.
During the meeting, Austrian envoy said that his presence in Mashhad is a good opportunity for him to exchange views on boosting cooperation.
He reiterated that Austria has always been a reliable partner for Iran even during hard times. He noted that Iran and Austria’s relation dates back to 500 years ago and it is his third visit to different cities of Iran since his arrival in Iran six months ago.
Scholz added that he is from a pilgrimage city which hosts more than 2 million pilgrims annually. He added that in his first visit to Mashhad he is accompanied by commercial attache of the embassy to find ways of cooperation.
He noted that Mashhad is an industrial hub in the country and it plays a great role in the tourism. He added that Austria is also a tourist destination, as medical and religious tourisms can complete each other in Mashhad.
He said Austrians are to construct 6 hospitals in Iran and the country can cooperate with Iran in other sectors like auto-making.
Scholz went on to say that Austria can take advantage of urban management experience of Mashhad, adding that Austria can exchange its experience with Mashhad about electric transportation as Austria is one of pioneer countries in the field.
He also welcomed launching direct flight between Vienna and Mashhad as Austrian airlines are well aware of its importance.
