Iran to Man­u­fac­ture Pa­per From Cal­cium Car­bon­ate

TEHRAN - Iran’s ad­min­is­tra­tion has ap­proved a project to man­u­fac­ture pa­per from cal­cium car­bon­ate.

In­dus­trial De­vel­op­ment & Ren­o­va­tion Or­ga­ni­za­tion of Iran (IDRO), a ma­jor gov­ern­ment-owned con­glom­er­ate will in­vest in the project, which will have a ca­pac­ity to pro­duce 20,000 tons of pa­per per year, IDRO said.

The project will be im­ple­mented in Kharameh county, lo­cated in south­ern Ira­nian prov­ince of Fars.

The project is aimed to pro­tect en­vi­ron­ment and sav­ing trees as well as cre­at­ing jobs in less de­vel­oped ar­eas of the coun­try.

The raw ma­te­ri­als, which will be used for pa­per man­u­fac­tur­ing plant are avail­able across the coun­try, ac­cord­ing to the re­port.
