Life Ex­pectancy Up Around 25 Years

IRNA* - Life ex­pectancy in Iran is 78.4 for women and 73.8 for men, said the spokesman of Iran’s Min­istry of Health on Mon­day.

‘Ac­cord­ing to the sta­tis­tics, life ex­pectancy in Iran has in­creased about 25 years in the past four decades, reach­ing over 73 from about 54,’ Iraj Harirchi said.

He said that, four decades ago, Iran’s rank­ing in life ex­pectancy in the world was be­tween 100 and 110, but it is 63 now.

Harirchi added that healthy life ex­pectancy in Iran is around 65 and 47% of Ira­ni­ans live more than 70 years.
