Gov’t After Planning A New Forex System
TEHRAN – First Vice-President Eshaq Jahangiri assured people of the future of the government’s policy on the forex and said the government is planning a new foreign exchane system.
In the meeting of the economic headquarters yesterday which was on organizing the forex market, Jahangiri said that the government in collaboration with economic enterprises is planning a new system on foreign exchange which will guarantee the national interests.
He added that the government will allocate the balance of the new dollar rate for the essential commodities in order to curb any hike in the prices. He reiterated the secret behind the success of any plan is dissemination of correct and fair information. He went on to say that absorbing the cash forex in the society by the banking system is one of the effective ways for safeguarding the value of the national currency and the property of the people. Jahangiri added that banks should set proper plans and publicity for absorbing the paper dollar of the people. He noted that the Central Bank will cooperate with banks and some forex shops in order to study criticisms and problems of the new plan. Jahangiri also reiterated that the forex resulted from the exports should return to the national economy. He said that some regulations will be prepared to encourage the exporters to bring the resulted forex to the country. He urged the Central Bank to make ready the NIMA portal which is for exporters as the bank can easily monitor the cycle of exports and resulted forex from the exports.
The Central Bank has banned any trade of paper dollar in the forex shops as they are almost closed in recent days or they deny any trade of forex.
