Gov’t Af­ter Plan­ning A New Forex Sys­tem

TEHRAN – First Vice-Pres­i­dent Eshaq Ja­hangiri as­sured peo­ple of the fu­ture of the gov­ern­ment’s pol­icy on the forex and said the gov­ern­ment is plan­ning a new for­eign ex­chane sys­tem.

In the meet­ing of the eco­nomic head­quar­ters yes­ter­day which was on or­ga­niz­ing the forex mar­ket, Ja­hangiri said that the gov­ern­ment in col­lab­o­ra­tion with eco­nomic en­ter­prises is plan­ning a new sys­tem on for­eign ex­change which will guar­an­tee the na­tional in­ter­ests.

He added that the gov­ern­ment will al­lo­cate the bal­ance of the new dol­lar rate for the es­sen­tial com­modi­ties in or­der to curb any hike in the prices. He re­it­er­ated the secret be­hind the suc­cess of any plan is dis­sem­i­na­tion of cor­rect and fair in­for­ma­tion. He went on to say that ab­sorb­ing the cash forex in the so­ci­ety by the bank­ing sys­tem is one of the ef­fec­tive ways for safe­guard­ing the value of the na­tional cur­rency and the prop­erty of the peo­ple. Ja­hangiri added that banks should set proper plans and pub­lic­ity for ab­sorb­ing the pa­per dol­lar of the peo­ple. He noted that the Cen­tral Bank will co­op­er­ate with banks and some forex shops in or­der to study crit­i­cisms and prob­lems of the new plan. Ja­hangiri also re­it­er­ated that the forex re­sulted from the ex­ports should re­turn to the na­tional econ­omy. He said that some reg­u­la­tions will be pre­pared to en­cour­age the ex­porters to bring the re­sulted forex to the coun­try. He urged the Cen­tral Bank to make ready the NIMA por­tal which is for ex­porters as the bank can eas­ily mon­i­tor the cy­cle of ex­ports and re­sulted forex from the ex­ports.

The Cen­tral Bank has banned any trade of pa­per dol­lar in the forex shops as they are al­most closed in re­cent days or they deny any trade of forex.
