Iranian, Vietnamese Speakers Discuss Issues of Mutual Interest
TEHRAN (IRNA) - The speaker of Majlis (Iranian Parliament) Ali Larijani visited Chairman of National Assembly of Vietnam Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan in Hanoi on Monday to talk about expansion of ties. ‘Iran and Vietnam’s views on issues are identical,’ said Larijani. ‘Vietnam has gained independence in a long fight for it, so I visited the tomb of Ho Chí Minh, Vietnam’s leader of Revolution,’ said Larijani, referring to the history of Vietnam’s struggle against U.S. imperialism. He also visited Ho Chí Minh’s house and signed his commemoration book. A group of Iranian parliament members accompanied Larijani on the visit. The Iranian parliamentary delegation will later leave Vietnam for Sri Lanka.
