Bri­tish-Ira­nian jailed in Tehran faces new charges

TEHRAN — Nazanin Zaghari-Rat­cliffe, a Bri­tish-Ira­nian woman serv­ing a fiveyear jail term in Iran, is facing fresh charges that may lead to an ad­di­tional 16 years in prison, ac­cord­ing to her hus­band.

Zaghari-Rat­cliffe, 38, has been in jail for 18 months for try­ing to or­ches­trate a soft over­throw of the Is­lamic Repub­lic.

In­tel­li­gence au­thor­i­ties ar­rested Zaghari at Imam Khome­ini In­ter­na­tional Air­port on April 3 on her way home to Lon­don after vis­it­ing her par­ents in Tehran and trans­ferred her to Ker­man.
