Rouhani ap­points new ad­vi­sor

TEHRAN — Pres­i­dent Hassan Rouhani on Mon­day ap­pointed Hamid Aboutalebi as his ad­vi­sor.

“Con­sid­er­ing your com­mit­ment, aca­demic ca­pa­bil­i­ties and valu­able ex­pe­ri­ences, you are be­ing ap­pointed as ‘ad­vi­sor to the pres­i­dent’,” Rouhani said in a let­ter.

“I wish you suc­cess in ful­fill­ing your re­spon­si­bil­i­ties, up­hold­ing the prin­ci­ples of rule of law, mod­er­a­tion and ‘Code of Ethics of the Ad­min­is­tra­tion of Pru­dence and Hope’ and serv­ing Is­lam and the great na­tion of Iran.”

Mah­moud Vaezi, the pres­i­den­tial chief of staff, also on Mon­day named Ma­jid Takht-Ra­vanchi as his deputy for po­lit­i­cal af­fairs.
