Ira­nian fe­male javelin thrower dreams of medal at Asian para Games

TEHRAN — Ira­nian fe­male javelin thrower Hashemieh Mo­taghian is dream­ing of win­ning medal in the 2018 Asian Para Games.

Mo­taghian, who rep­re­sented Iran at the 2016 Par­a­lympic Games in Rio, claimed a sil­ver medal at 2017 World Para Ath­let­ics Cham­pi­onships in Lon­don.

She fin­ished in sec­ond place in Women’s Javelin Throw F56 Fi­nal with 20.66m.

Now, Mo­taghian is pre­par­ing for win­ning a medal in Jakarta.

“I will par­tic­i­pate in both javelin and dis­cus throw events in the Asian Para Games. Af­ter the World Para Ath­let­ics Cham­pi­onships, I am train­ing hard be­cause I want to win a gold medal in the Games,” Mo­taghian told Par­a­lympic.ir.

“I think I will have a tough task in javelin throw in the Asian Para Games but I want to break record,” she added.

The 2018 Asian Para Games, also known as the 3rd Asian Para Games, par­al­lels the 2018 Asian Games, as a multi-sport event for Asian ath­letes with dis­abil­ity.

This event will be held in Jakarta, In­done­sia from Oc­to­ber 6 to 13.

Iran came fourth in the first and sec­ond edi­tions held in Guangzhou, China and In­cheon, South Korea re­spec­tively.
