Sarmadi holds high-level meetings in Tajikistan
TEHRAN — Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Morteza Sarmadi met with Tajik Foreign Minister Sirodjidin Mukhridinovich Aslov in Dushanbe on Thursday.
During the meeting which was held on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit, Sarmadi and Aslov explored avenues for bolstering and reinvigorating relations.
The Tajik foreign minister pointed to the constructive visits by senior Iranian officials to his country over past months and called for expanding relations in different sectors.
During his visit to Dushanbe, Sarmadi also met with Tajik Energy Minister Osman Ali Osmanzadeh, who heads the Tajikistan-Iran economic commission.
Osmanzadeh lauded Iranian companies’ activities in Tajikistan, including those involved in building a power plant.
