Erbil International Airport (EIA) has been labelled as the fastest developing airport in Middle East, Asia and Africa. An International committee at the Emerging Markets Airport Show in Dubai selected EIA as 2012’s fastest developing airport with less than 5 million travelers. The award was received by Talar Faiq, Director of EIA. Abdurrahman argues that if they didn’t sign agreement with some international inspection companies, they would need 35 years to reach complete self-sufficiency. Qulaity Control Chairman told the Kurdish Globe that according to the agreements they have signed with the inspection companies, part of the fees charged by the quality control and inspection companies is shared with the Board, and can be used to improve their capacity.
