Five Aphrodite Play­ers Join Na­tional Team

Af­ter the Aphrodite team showed a high per­for­mance level in the Iraqi do­mes­tic handball league, five play­ers of the team were called to join the Iraqi na­tional team to take part in the in­ter­na­tional com­pe­ti­tions.

Aphrodite is a strong can­di­date to be­come the Iraqi league cham­pion af­ter it was able to reach the fi­nal match last week. Through­out the whole league pe­riod, the play­ers at­tracted the at­ten­tions of many sports fans, the other clubs, and even Iraqi Handball As­so­ci­a­tion (IHB) of­fi­cials.

The five play­ers who have been iden­ti­fied by IHB to join the Iraqi na­tional team in­clude the fol­low­ing: Chawan Salih, Banu Kamil, Ba­har Oth­man, Shini­yar Burhan, and Srusht Farhad.

Al­though the play­ers have to go through sev­eral prac­ti­cal tests in or­der to be fully ac­cepted by the IHB and rep­re­sent Iraq and Kur­dis­tan in out­side con­tri­bu­tions, the re­ports have shown they are in front of the other play­ers.
