Five Aphrodite Players Join National Team
After the Aphrodite team showed a high performance level in the Iraqi domestic handball league, five players of the team were called to join the Iraqi national team to take part in the international competitions.
Aphrodite is a strong candidate to become the Iraqi league champion after it was able to reach the final match last week. Throughout the whole league period, the players attracted the attentions of many sports fans, the other clubs, and even Iraqi Handball Association (IHB) officials.
The five players who have been identified by IHB to join the Iraqi national team include the following: Chawan Salih, Banu Kamil, Bahar Othman, Shiniyar Burhan, and Srusht Farhad.
Although the players have to go through several practical tests in order to be fully accepted by the IHB and represent Iraq and Kurdistan in outside contributions, the reports have shown they are in front of the other players.
