Turkey’s In­tel­lec­tu­als De­mand Peace and Demo­cratic Con­fer­ences

A num­ber of Turkey's fa­mous schol­ars and writ­ers held a meet­ing in Di­yarbekir and de­manded a con­fer­ence for peace and democ­racy to be held.

Ac­cord­ing to a re­port from Di­yarbekir He­ber, Yashar Ka­mal, Tariq Ziya Ek­inci, We­dat Turkeli, Orhan Pa­muk, Mo­ratkhan Mon­gan, Rekel Dink and Yaqin Ataturk have at­tended the meet­ing and dis­cussed fu­ture of Turkey and co­ex­is­tence be­tween Turkey's com­po­nents stat­ing that Turkey's com­po­nent should de­cide on fu­ture of their coun­try.

The source men­tioned that Turkey's in­tel­lec­tu­als stressed on the need of peace and co­ex­is­tence in Turkey and stated that Turkye's com­po­nents should de­cide on their coun­try and their own fu­ture, that's why peace and democ­racy con­fer­ence should be held across Turkey so that they de­cide on their fu­ture.
