Demirtas: PKK not involved in attack on Canoglu

The Kurdish Globe - - NEWS -

After several unknown armed indi- viduals attacked Canoglu, a village in Turkey, a number of political parties rushed to blame the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) for the attacks. In response to these accusations, Selahattin Demirtas, co-chairman of the Peace and Democracy Party (BDP), said the PKK would never make a mistake of that sort, especially at this stage in the peace process. “The PKK and Turkey always wanted a ceasefire and an end to the fighting. But other people who do not like peace have started to conspire against the Peace Process. The Canoglu attack is an attack on the Peace Process,” said Demirtas

He reiterated that the PKK is not behind the attacks, and knows full well that committing mistakes like that would mean the end of the PKK.
