Po­lit­i­cal en­ti­ties sub­mit can­di­date list

The IHEC has so far re­ceived the vast ma­jor­ity of the can­di­date lists from the po­lit­i­cal en­ti­ties for the up­com­ing Kur­dish par­lia­men­tary elec­tions

Around 31, out of 37, po­lit­i­cal en­ti­ties have till Satur­day evening sub­mit­ted the name of their can­di­dates for the up­com­ing Kur­dish par­lia­men­tary elec­tions, which is ex­pected to be held on Septem­ber 21, Head of In­de­pen­dent High Elec­toral Com­mis­sion says.

Around 31, out of 37, po­lit­i­cal en­ti­ties have till Satur­day evening sub­mit­ted the name of their can­di­dates for the up­com­ing Kur­dish par­lia­men­tary elec­tions, which is ex­pected to be held on Septem­ber 21, Head of In­de­pen­dent High Elec­toral Com­mis­sion says.

Sar­bast Mustafa, Head of the Com­mis­sion, has con­firmed that 31 po­lit­i­cal en­ti­ties sub­mit­ted the name of their can­di­dates list. He also added that two po­lit­i­cal par­ties with­drew from the par­lia­men­tary elec­tions, and they were the Kur­dis­tan Con­ser­va­tive Party and Turk­men Elli Party.

Re­gard­ing when will the pro­pa­ganda cam­paign start, he said that, “The com­mis­sion has not yet made any de­ci­sion about it.”

As a le­gal rou­tine, the com­mis­sion has to send the name of the can­di­dates in the courts across the Kur­dis­tan Re­gion of Iraq, to be legally ver­i­fied.

Based on the rules, the age of the can­di­dates should be 25+, and they should have a high school de­gree or higher as well as they must not be ac­cused of any crimes.

The com­mis­sion had al­ready post­poned the date of sub­mit­ting the can­di­dates list twice, and ten days for each time.

Each po­lit­i­cal party has to nom­i­nate one of its lead­ing mem­bers as the head of the can­di­dates list. The be­low is the name of head of po­lit­i­cal en­ti­ties for the par­lia­men­tary elec­tions:

*Mawlood Bawa Murad, Head of Kur­dis­tan Is­lamic Union list.

*Ja­mal Murtka, Head of Kur­dis­tan Demo­cratic Party list.

*Yusuf Mo­hammed, Head of Gor­ran Move­ment list.

*Mar­wan Galaly, Head of Kur­dis­tan Is­lamic Group list.

*Sh­wan Qal­adzeyi, Head of Kur­dis­tan Is­lamic Move­ment list.

*Qadir Aziz, Head of Kur­dis­tan Fu­ture Party list.

*Abu Kar­wan, Head of Kur­dis­tan So­cial­ist Party list.

*Ab­dul­lah Ha­jji Mah­mud, Head of Kur­dis­tan Demo­cratic So­cial­ist Party list.

*Balen Ab­dul­lah, Head of joint list for Kur­dis­tan Tay­lors Party and La­bor­ers Party.

It is ex­pected that the par­lia­men­tary elec­tions will be held on Septem­ber 21, but the com­mis­sion has so far an­nounced that it needs more time to ar­range the prepara­tory stuffs for the elec­tions. Based on the newly elec­toral law, the elec­tions will be like a semi-open listed for­mat. The com­mis­sion has said the elec­tions might be post­poned to a time be­tween Novem­ber 1 to 21.
