PM Barzani: Na­tional con­sen­sus is needed upon con­sti­tu­tion

The Kur­dis­tan Re­gional Gov­ern­ment’s, KRG, Prime Min­is­ter, Nechir­van Barzani has re­cently said that the two ma­jor Kur­dish rul­ing par­ties, Kur­dis­tan Demo­cratic Party [KDP] and Pa­tri­otic Union of Kur­dis­tan [PUK], are com­mit­ted to the agree­ment, signed in 29 of the last June, re­sulted in the ex­ten­sion of Kur­dis­tan Pres­i­dent’s, Massoud Barzani, ten­ure, Kur­dis­tan Par­lia­ment and the na­tional con­sen­sus to re­solve the is­sue of the draft con­sti­tu­tion.

PM Barzani also stated that the two po­lit­i­cal par­ties had al­ready de­cided that the con­sti­tu­tion has to bring unity and har­mony and not dis­unity of the Kur­dish so­ci­ety. To re­solve the dis­putes, he said, the na­tional con­sen­sus is the best way.
