Barzani leaves Erbil toward UAE and Kuwait
The President of Kurdistan Region, Masoud Barzani, left Erbil on Saturday headed to the United Arab Emirates and Kuwait.
The spokesperson of the Kurdistani Regional Government, Omeid Sabah, sated in a press statement “Barzani went on Saturday morning at the head of a delegation to visit all of the United Arab Emirates and Kuwait at the official invitation , stressing that the visit take several days,” The statement of the spokesman for the region’s presidency, Omed Sabah.
The statement did not mention files for which Barzani will discuss with two Gulf leaders, but political observers say that it is likely that they will discuss the political situation in Iraq and the Syrian crisis, win addition to strengthening economic relations between Erbil and both Abu Dhabi and Kuwait.
On the other hand, the head of Kurdistan region's Foreign Relations Department, Falah Mustafa, said that the Kurdistan President, Massoud Barzani, is to visit the United States on an official invitation from the US Administration.
Barzani’s visit to the Gulf countries and the USA comes immediately after the Iraqi Prime Minister, Nouri al-Maliki, ends his official visit to the USA.
