Another IHEC employee killed in Mosul
An employee of the Independent High Electoral Commission (IHEC) in Iraq was killed in an armed attack in Mosul on Wednesday night. A security source reports that unknown gunmen opened fire on an IHEC employee near his home in the east of Mosul.
According to the source, the employee died as a result of his injuries. This is the second murder of IHEC personnel in the province in 24 hours.
The Independent High Electoral Commission (IHEC) is an independent professional state body supervised by the Council of Representatives. It is exclusively responsible for organizing, implementing and supervising all kinds of elections and referenda.
