Kurds boycott Iraqi parliament sessions once again
A Kurdish MP revealed that Kurdish MPs boycotted a session of the Iraqi Parliament at which the National Alliance insisted on reading the first draft of the Budget bill. Dr. Rizgar, a Kurdish MP in the Iraqi Parliament, told a KDP source that when the session began, the National Alliance Bloc insisted on reading the first draft of the Iraqi Budget bill. “That’s why we boycotted the session and withdrew,” he said. Dr. Rizgar also said that there was no quorum after their departure, so the Speaker postponed the session until next Monday. The Kurdish MP said they would maintain their stance until their suggested amendments to the Bill are taken into consideration. He indicated that unless Baghdad and the Region can reach an agreement, the budget will probably be passed without the Kurds, as happened last year.
