The Head of the Media Department in the KRG Ministry of Endowment and Religious Affairs, Mariwan Naqshbandi, stated that a civil plane carrying gifts for children in refugee camps in the Kurdistan Region and Western Kurdistan arrived at Erbil International Airport last night.

The plane, which was carry- ing 65 000 gifts for children, had been prevented from landing by the Iraqi government on January 18 and 26.

Naqshbandi said the gifts from the children of America to refugee children in the Kurdistan Region and Western Kurdistan were sent by the Samaritan Purse Charity Organization on the request of the General Directorate of Christian Affairs at the Ministry. The gifts arrived at Erbil International Airport aboard a civil Emirati plane last night.

Naqshbandi stressed that the gifts are to be distributed on Sunday, February 2, around the eight refugee camps of Western Kurdistan and the Kurdistan Region. “These gifts have been sent by Franklin Billy Graham, the head of the Samaritan Purse Charity Foundation, which is the largest charity organization in America and the world. When he visited the Kurdistan Region in a private plane at the end of last year and visited refugee camps, he promised to send these gifts to the children on his return to America.
