Demir­tas: Kurds de­serves prac­tice self-gov­ern­ing rights

Peace and Democ­racy Party (BDP) co-chair Se­la­hat­tin Demir­tas said “Our aim is not to wins seats at the Mu­nic­i­pal­ity Elec­tions, but we want Kurds to gain self-gov­ern­ing abil­ity,”

Con­cern­ing lis­ten­ing to people in Turkey, Demir­tas, said that the process of lis­ten­ing to people have been con­ducted and agreed by Turk­ish Prime Min­is­ter, Re­cep Tayyip Er­do­gan.

Be­fore the op­er­a­tions of An­tiCor­rup­tion started in Jan­uary, 17, 2013, Demir­tas stated that the govern­ment was lis­ten­ing to the op­po­si­tion sides and Er­do­gan knew about it. But af­ter the op­er­a­tions be­gan, Er­do­gan de­nied he has been aware of the process of lis­ten­ing.

Con­cern­ing the oper­a­tion of Koma Ci­vakên Kur­dis­tan (KCK), Demir­tas said that the Golan Move­ment people have con­ducted op­er­a­tions against KCK while Er­do­gan was aware of it.

The Golan move­ment is a transna­tional Is­lamic civic so­ci­ety move­ment in­spired by Golan’s teach­ings. His teach­ings about hizmet (al­tru­is­tic ser­vice to the "com­mon good") have at­tracted a large num­ber of sup­port­ers in Turkey, Cen­tral Asia, and in­creas­ingly in other parts of the world.
