11 Taxi Drivers Found Dead in Suleimaniya

The Kurdish Globe - - NEWS -

"11 unidentified bodies, likely to be the taxi drivers who had been missing for over a year, were found in Suleimaniya on Friday," police said.

Police of Baziyan Sub-District, 20 km south of the city of Suleimaniya, revealed they’ve found 11 bodies which are believed to be of the taxi drivers working on Suleimaniya–Kirkuk route and had been missing for over a year.

The source said that most of the drivers were from Kirkuk Province who had been killed and buried in a valley nearby the Sub-District of Baziyan. Two months ago, security forces in Suleimaniya "Asaysh" arrested a man suspected of the murder of the taxi drivers. The man is suspected of taking the taxi cars and sold them later to the terrorist groups in Kirkuk. The man (an Arabic nationality) has confessed the murder of four drivers and burying them in Chamchamal District.

Last year, the victims’ families gathered in front of the PUK Politburo in Suleimaniya, (the main authority in the Province), to protest and demand information about the fate of their missing sons.
