50k students to attend colleges and institutes this year
Official spokesperson of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research of the Kurdistan Regional Government KRG announced that for the coming academic year of 2014-2015 approximately 50 thousand students shall be admitted into the public and private universities, colleges and institutes.
The announcement came in a news report posted on the zankoline.com webpage quoting from Foad Ali, the ministry’s spokesperson.
Ali has announced that high school graduates will apply for higher education via filling application forms on zankoline. com, and 50 thousand appli- cants shall get a seat in one of the region’s public and private higher education institutions.
Ali commented on the decision by the Ministry of Education to reschedule the re-sit exams for the 12th grade students and said this will affect the education process in general.
Dr. Pshtiwan Sadiq, KRG’s Education Minister announced that due to the humanitarian situation in the region and the occupation of many schools by Internally Displaced Persons IDPs, the re-sit exams of the Grade 12 students shall be postponed by one month to be conducted on September 21, 2014.
