PM Barzani meets Erdogan and Davutoglu
Erdogan takes oath as the new President of Turkey
The PM of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Nechirvan Barzani, paid a visit to Turkey last week, during which he took part in the ceremony of Recep Teyyp Erdogan’s inauguration to swear constitutional oath as President of the Turkish Republic, on Thursday, August 28, 2014. On Wednesday, the Kurdish Prime Minister met Erdogan and Ahmet Davutoglu, Turkey’s outgoing Foreign Minister. Reports said PM Barzani took part on Wednesday in a conference of Justice and Development Party AKP that elected Ahmet Davutoglu as the new head of the party and a new Prime Minister, succeeding Erdogan who won the Turkish presidential election and submitted his resignation from the party. Erdogan won the Presidential Election that took place recently by a comfortable margin over his closest rivals.
