PM Barzani meets Er­do­gan and Davu­to­glu

Er­do­gan takes oath as the new Pres­i­dent of Turkey

The PM of the Kur­dis­tan Re­gional Gov­ern­ment, Nechir­van Barzani, paid a visit to Turkey last week, dur­ing which he took part in the cer­e­mony of Re­cep Teyyp Er­do­gan’s in­au­gu­ra­tion to swear con­sti­tu­tional oath as Pres­i­dent of the Turk­ish Repub­lic, on Thurs­day, Au­gust 28, 2014. On Wed­nes­day, the Kur­dish Prime Min­is­ter met Er­do­gan and Ah­met Davu­to­glu, Turkey’s out­go­ing For­eign Min­is­ter. Re­ports said PM Barzani took part on Wed­nes­day in a con­fer­ence of Jus­tice and De­vel­op­ment Party AKP that elected Ah­met Davu­to­glu as the new head of the party and a new Prime Min­is­ter, suc­ceed­ing Er­do­gan who won the Turk­ish pres­i­den­tial elec­tion and sub­mit­ted his res­ig­na­tion from the party. Er­do­gan won the Pres­i­den­tial Elec­tion that took place re­cently by a com­fort­able mar­gin over his clos­est ri­vals.
