Corpses of children found in the grave
According to a statement by the head of the Communication of the14th Branch of the Kurdistan Democratic Party KDP, the Kurdish Peshmarga Forces found a mass grave in one of the villages of Zummar Sub-district.
Saeed Mamuzini, head of the communication of the KDP’s 14th branch in Mosul told a local Kurdish news website, that Peshmarga Forces found and uncovered a mass grave between Badriya and Barzanki villages in Zummar, and found 35 corpses, among them children, youths and elderly people, who have been put in this mass grave by Islamic State terrorists after being shot dead in group.
“All the bodies have bullets in them and are Yazidi Kurds from Sinjar and Zummar areas,” Mamuzini told the news website.
Following the invasion of the Yazidi areas of Sinjar and Zummar, a large number of these religious minorities have been killed by the extremist Islamic groups for being followers of a religion other than Islam. The women, however, have been captured and sent to Mosul and other areas under ISIS control where they have been sold as slaves.
