Shene Aziz Ako is a Kurdish young lady who was nominated for Miss World pageant, and has won the title of Miss Kurdistan on 28 of June, 2012. Ako is one of many Kurdish young ladies that have sense of nationality and pride of being Kurd as well as doing work of charity. The aftermath of the attacks of ISIS on many cities of Iraq, including Mosul and Shingal and the displacement of many people to Kurdistan region led Ako to do her part of humanitarian contribution.

Shene Ako has visited the IDP. She met many people in Lalish temple to which many Yazidis fled to. The victims of ISIS live, as we know, in dire situations. Ako tried her best to alleviate their suffering. She had brought with her some necessities too to the families with children.

Thus she planted the seeds of hope and belonging among IDP and made children smile even if for some short moments. Many of these kids have either lost temporarily or forever their parents. One could see tears rolling down their emaciated cheeks.

At the end, Ako prayed for Yazidis in the temple and hoped those who are missing could safely return to their loved ones.
