Iraqi Oil Min­is­ter holds suc­cess­ful talks in Er­bil

Er­bil, Kur­dis­tan Re­gion, Iraq, (krg.org) - In a joint meet­ing held to­day be­tween the Kur­dis­tan Re­gion Prime Min­is­ter, Nechir­van Barzani, Deputy Prime Min­is­ter, Qubad Tal­a­bani, and Iraqi Oil Min­is­ter Dr. Adel Ab­dul Mahdi in Er­bil, both sides agreed to reach a com­pre­hen­sive set­tle­ment of all the out­stand­ing is­sues be­tween the Iraqi fed­eral gov­ern­ment and the Kur­dis­tan Re­gional Gov­ern­ment. As a first step it was agreed that:

1- The fed­eral Iraqi gov­ern­ment pays 500 mil­lion US dol­lars to the Kur­dis­tan Re­gional Gov­ern­ment.

2- The KRG places 150,000 bar­rels a day of crude oil at the dis­posal of the fed­eral Iraqi gov­ern­ment.

3- The KRG Prime Min­is­ter Nechir­van Barzani will head a del­e­ga­tion to visit Bagh­dad in the com­ing few days to de­velop a com­pre­hen­sive, fair and con­sti­tu­tional so­lu­tion for all the out­stand­ing is­sues.
