The Kurdish Globe - - NEWS -

Head of Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) bloc in Kurdistan Parliament denied reports talking about President Barzani and the Parliament Speaker Yusuf Mohammed deciding to extend the presidential term in a mutual meeting. Omed Khoshnaw, Head of KDP bloc, told The Kurdish Globe: “Kurdistan Regional President Massoud Barzani rejects extension of presidential term definitely.”

He also declared that President Barzani and Mohammed did not absolutely take any decision regarding the extension of the presidential term.

Head of KDP bloc maintained that President Barzani does not accept extension of presidential term and he did not want to do so previously, but the situation in Kurdistan required such a solution.

It is worth mentioning that Yusuf Mohammed mentioned the detail of the meeting with President Barzani saying that they discussed the Kurdistan Constitution draft as some of the Kurdish political parties ask the Parliament to amend some provisions of it. He added that they also talked about the end of the current presidential term of President Massoud Barzani.
