Er­bil se­cu­rity forces ar­rest nine sus­pects of re­cent ter­ror­ist ac­tions

Er­bil se­cu­rity of­fice con­firms the ar­rest of nine sus­pects in con­nec­tion with the re­cent ex­plo­sions hap­pened in Er­bil, cap­i­tal of the Kur­dish au­ton­o­mous re­gion in north of Iraq, and Kirkuk.

Speak­ing at a press con­fer­ence, Tariq Nouri, di­rec­tor of Er­bil Se­cu­rity Of­fice, said that: “We have promised our peo­ple to ar­rest and pun­ish the ter­ror­ists.”

He stated that ex­cept ar­rest­ing the nine ter­ror­ists, the se­cu­rity forces seized three cars in last Au­gust. He re­vealed a dan­ger­ous in­for­ma­tion on the next plans of the ar­rested the ter­ror­ists.

Nouri an­nounced that they had plan to ex­plode a high level of­fice of the Kur­dis­tan Demo­cratic Party, KDP, and the polit­buro HQs of the Pa­tri­otic Union of Kur­dis­tan in Su­laimani.

He also con­firmed that they car­ried out an ex­plo­sion in the city of Kirkuk in De­cem­ber.

The se­cu­rity di­rec- tor ex­pressed his grat­i­tude to the Er­bil and Kirkuk se­cu­rity and po­lice forces to co­op­er­ate with each other to find the per­pe­tra­tors of the acts of ter­ror in Kur­dis­tan. He also thanked the se­cu­rity forces of Su­laimani as well.

An­swer­ing the ques­tions of the jour­nal­ists, Nouri said that the se­cu­rity forces of Kur­dis­tan would con­tinue chas­ing the ter­ror­ists and will pun­ish them def­i­nitely.

He later in­tro­duced the iden­tity of the ter­ror­ists through a slide show pre­sen­ta­tion.
