Masrour Barzani asks for more weapons from the UK

The Kurdish Globe - - NEWS -

Masrour Barzani, the Kurdistan Security Council Advisor, received a delegation from the UK Parliament's Defense Committee, headed by MP Dai Havard.

The meeting, which was attended by the UK General Consule in Erbil, was mainly focused on the current security situation in Iraq and Syria, the threats of the terrorists on the world security and sta- bility and the military and financial resources needed for the war on terror.

The delegation reiterated the UK's commitment to fighting the Islamic State terrorists.

“This is an international war against terrorism,” Barzani told the delegation. “To remove this threat, we need a coordinated effort and response. We have always said and we repeat that the IS should not be left with any safe place and the air strikes should be increased.”

Praising the UK's continued support for Kurdish Peshmargas, Barzani asked the delegation for more weapons for their fight against IS.

The delegation promised to report all the needs of Kurdistan Region to their Parliament and the British government.
