Humanitarian aid distributed to 925 IDP families in Sulaimaniah and Baherka
The office of Barzani Charity Foundation in the city of Sulaimaniah distributed humanitarian aid, consisting of food and drinking water to 200 Yazidii, Shabak and Arab IDP families in the region of Qaradag and Zrgwez.
At the same time the BCF, in cooperation with the World Food Programme (WFP), distributed a carton of dry food including 3 bags of rice, flour and lentils and two cartons of bread among 725 IDP families at Baharka camp. The BCF together with WFP has previously introduced the second phase of aid, distributing kerosene cook stoves to the families in order for IDPs to prepare their own meals in combination with the dry food distributions.
In the first phase of the IDP crisis the BCF with WFP established communal food kitchens that provided two daily hot meals to over 151,000 individuals.
