Mass graves discovered in Jalawla and Saadia
Bodies of 40 Found in Jalawla and Saadia, including Peshmarga
A team from the Khanaqin Martyrs Agency has found 40 bodies of Peshmerga fighters and other civilians in mass graves in the area between Jalawla and Saadia, towns in the Diyala Province of northern Iraq.
General Director of the Agency, Herish Ahmad, stated “During an investigation, the Agency’s special team found a mass grave in the Kobashi area between Jalawla and Saadia.”
“Initially three bodies in Kobashi and four others in TalSalima were discovered and exhumed,” said Ahmad.
He continued, “10 bodies who appeared to be Peshmerga fighters were found near Propane Gas Factory near Jalawla. The bodies were transferred to Sulaimnaiya Autopsy before they were submitted to their families. ”
“We are expecting to find more bodies as the grave is particularly deep. We need more time to fully examine the situation,” he added.
He also said some parts of two bodies were found then proved to be the bodies of two Peshmerga fighters in Kobra.
Reports recently discovered that many mass graves have been found in the Jalawla and Sinjar, all the work of IS militants.
