Mass graves dis­cov­ered in Jalawla and Saa­dia

Bod­ies of 40 Found in Jalawla and Saa­dia, in­clud­ing Pesh­marga

A team from the Khanaqin Martyrs Agency has found 40 bod­ies of Pesh­merga fight­ers and other civil­ians in mass graves in the area be­tween Jalawla and Saa­dia, towns in the Diyala Prov­ince of north­ern Iraq.

Gen­eral Di­rec­tor of the Agency, Her­ish Ahmad, stated “Dur­ing an in­ves­ti­ga­tion, the Agency’s spe­cial team found a mass grave in the Kobashi area be­tween Jalawla and Saa­dia.”

“Ini­tially three bod­ies in Kobashi and four oth­ers in TalSal­ima were dis­cov­ered and ex­humed,” said Ahmad.

He con­tin­ued, “10 bod­ies who ap­peared to be Pesh­merga fight­ers were found near Propane Gas Fac­tory near Jalawla. The bod­ies were trans­ferred to Su­laim­naiya Au­topsy be­fore they were sub­mit­ted to their fam­i­lies. ”

“We are ex­pect­ing to find more bod­ies as the grave is par­tic­u­larly deep. We need more time to fully ex­am­ine the sit­u­a­tion,” he added.

He also said some parts of two bod­ies were found then proved to be the bod­ies of two Pesh­merga fight­ers in Ko­bra.

Re­ports re­cently dis­cov­ered that many mass graves have been found in the Jalawla and Sin­jar, all the work of IS mil­i­tants.
