In order to participate in conferences and panels in New York City to discuss the situation of refugees in Kurdistan, the Barzani Charity Foundation was the only organization officially invited by the US congress and to visit the country.

A high delegation of the Barzani Charity Foundation headed by Sheikh Aziz Sheikh Reza, the president of the Foundation, and Mousa Ahmed, his deputy, for the reason of collecting more help for the refugees in Kurdistan visited the US and did many interviews and meetings with the Human Rights Organizations and charity foundations. Their first activity in New York was a meeting with the founders of Change for Hope and Cotas4Kurdistan. These organizations are newly established especially to raise funds for the refugees. Learning about the Barzani Foundation’s activi- ties, the Americans decided to cooperate with it.

During the discussions, the American charity groups of Change for Hope and Coats4Kiurdistan decided to send help they had collected to the Kurdish Region through the Barzani foundation as soon as possible. The help collected consists of two trailers of medical supplies and two others of clothes and other goods.

The Americans were delighted to collaborate with the Kurdish Foundation and showed their readiness to continue supporting the refugees and the displaced. In addition, the delegation showed its appreciation of the Kurdish organization and reaffirmed their friendship and cooperation between them.
