On February 3, IS released a video on social media networks showing a captured Jordanian air force pilot being burned alive in a cage.

The Kurdistan Region Presidency’s official website released a statement in which Barzani condemned the act in the strongest possible terms.

“I, and on behalf of the people of Kurdistan, express my condolences to your Majesty, the people of Jordan, and the family of Moaz al-Kasasbeh,” reads the message addressed to the Jordan King Abdullah.

Barzani added, “I condemn, in the strongest terms, this inhumane act by ISIS terrorists. These terrorists will pay for their crimes, and their fate is defeat and annihilation.”

In response to the brutal murder, Jordan hanged two Iraqi jihadists, one a woman, on Wednesday and Jordan's King Abdullah vowed a "relentless" war against Islamic State on their own territory.
