More than 235 thou­sand Syr­ian refugees in Kur­dis­tan

Ac­cord­ing to the most re­cent statis­tics the to­tal num­ber of Syr­ian Kur­dish refugees in Kur­dis­tan Re­gion is 235,563.

Shakir Yassin, Direc­tor of Im­mi­gra­tion and Im­mi­grants Of­fice of the Kur­dis­tan Re­gion, says a to­tal of 82,026 Syr­ian Kur­dish fam­i­lies are now in Kur­dis­tan Re­gion, ma­jor­ity of which are ac­com­mo­dated at the Domiz Camp in Duhok Prov­ince.

"Kur­dis­tan Re­gional Gov­ern­ment and the NGOSs, es­pe­cially the Barzani Char­ity Foun­da­tion, are at­tend­ing to their needs in a very good man­ner,” Yassin says. “They are living com­fort­ably and all their ba­sic ser­vices and needs are pro­vided.”

Ac­cord­ing to Yassin, other refugees are stay­ing with their rel­a­tives and ac­quain­tances or live on their own else­where in the re­gion.
