After killing, selling, kidnapping, burning and raping, she still thinks that one day her family members will come back. On 3rd August, ISIS attacked Sinjar and practiced the heinous acts against people that lead to the displacement of thousands of them within Kurdistan. More than 5 months have passed and still the patient mothers are waiting for their family members to return. Their daughters who had been sold and raped and their sons who had been kidnapped and killed, as well as their men whom ISIS took to unknown place. Gule 56 years old that lost all her family members during the initial days of the attacks is waiting for her beloved family members. She went to the recently discovered mass grave in khanasor to look for her missing family members among the skeletons and bones.

"Are we living in the Stone Age? Isn’t right that we are living in 21st century? People are killed, raped, tortured every day," Gule protested. The harsh reality made Gule to think that she is living in a vicious world of thousands of years ago. The circumstances that people like Gule experience make them hopeless and despair. It seems that this mass grave was not the first one Peshmerga discovered in Sinjar. There are ongoing search for many more. The latest one that found in Zumar contained 20 to 30 people from different ages and all of them were Yazidis. ISIS committed atrocities against Yazidis and Muslims in Sinjar. Only in Zumar mass graves are expected to be found in many locations. The graves hold women, men, children and young ladies.
