The Kurdistan Region is Taking the Right Steps Forward

The Kurdish Globe - - NEWS - By Salam Abdullah

As it is obvious, the Kurdistan Region is improving its foreign relation day by day; new consulates are being opened in the capital. There are many factors that made the world trust the Kurdistan Region and establish diplomatic relations with it. One of them is Kurdistan’s commitment to the principles of democracy, diversity and human rights which are considered the major principles of building a healthy and civil society by both the Europeans and the liberal world as well. We’re not saying that our country is a utopia and that there’re no shortcomings in those aspects and no violations are made occasionally, but generally it can be said that The Region and the Region’s presidency is taking the steps towards those main principles on which the liberal world’s criterion are based for a democratic society. So it’s not strange that the sudden attacks ISIS terrorists launched on Kurdistan was because of the Region’s development in democracy and building a liberal society in which all residents, no matter of their sex, religion and political view can live together peacefully. It’s this direction that irritated ISIS and others in the area to try to hamper these developments. There’s also no doubt that this reality has made the democratic and liberal countries to pay special respect and show appreciation to the Region and value its experience and to have tight relations with it in order to support it in all aspects and to help develop this democratic experience in the heart of the chaotic Middle East.

One of the most important aids provided to Kurdistan nowadays is the military support which is about to shift the balance of power in favor of the brave Peshmerges. Though the aid is not at the level to de- cisively determine the future of the war clearly, but still it is increasing day by day. As we witness today, a developed country such as Germany decides to send more advanced weapons and military advisers to Kurdistan Region, which is appreciated by people of Kurdistan and its leadership.

We’re now taking the right steps forward, but the terrorists the wrong. That’s why the future belongs to people of Kurdistan. Shame and disgrace for those black-flagged, warped terrorists who are going against the right development of the human history and freedom.
