Iranian drone crashes in Khurmatoo
A security official in Khurmatoo says a pilotless spy plane belonging to the Islamic Republic of Iran crashed within the borders of Khurmatoo town, some 75 kilometers south of Kirkuk.
Faruq Ahmed, Director of Khurmatoo Security, told a local Kurdish news website that the reason of the crash seems to be a technical failure of the plane.
“The Iranian forces were looking for one of their pilotless planes in Khurmatoo, which was later found near Hlewa village, near to the Kurdish Peshmarga’s 15th brigade base,” Ahmed told the website. “The plane was sent to collect data and the incident seems to have resulted from a technical failure of the plane since the area is far from the ISIS controlled territories.”
