More than IQD200 trillion is moving inside Kurdistan
Director of Kurdistan Region’s Central bank announced that there are more than IQD200 trillion inside Kurdistan Region.
Adham Karim Darwesh, Director of Kurdistan Region’s Central Bank says according to their estimates there is enough Iraqi Dinars in Kurdistan Region markets and people are using this amount for their trading activities and there are no liquidity concerns in Kurdistan.
“Some of the notes are old and torn, but we take it back from the people and change them to new notes,” Darwesh said.
Darwesh said the new printed Iraqi Dinar notes are available in Kurdistan as well.
“According to the constitution, bank notes should have Kurdish language and signs on it, but the new 10,000 notes do not have Kurdish language on them,” Darwesh argued. “Other new notes will be printed and are supposed to have Kurdish language on them.”
