A magazine full of women… full of life
One of the magazines that came out on 8th of March, on the World Women Day, was the 8th issue of (Layla Qasim-Layla Zana) magazine, which is printed and published in Hawler by the well-known journalist Mumtaz Haidari. He is the owner of the magazine too.
The magazine is specialized in history and social aspects of women’s questions. It shows interest in documentary reports about women in all parts of Kurdistan and the world.
This special issue, on which it’s written (The Martyrs’ Issue), has been dedicated to the life, history and photos of the martyred Kurdish women who sacrificed their lives for freedom of Kurdistan. Mumtaz Haidari writes in the introduction of the magazine, “During the last eight months, with the beginning of the brutal war of the ISIS thugs, what the Kurdish girls and women across Kurdistan especially Western Kurdistan have achieved is unique. The bravery shown by the Kurdish women is a phenomenon that has never occurred in any other county, any other war before. "
The magazine here worked as a historical record for the lives and struggle of the Kurdish girls and women who sacrificed their lives for freedom of Kurdistan in Western and Southern Kurdistan. The women who have no matches in the world. The women who even made their occupied country their own life, lover, a husband and future. Those women defeated the bar- baric thugs of IS. Those women shed their precious blood to defend the honor of their beloved country Kurdistan.
The magazine is full of women, the women of whom history is proud. The magazine is full of life, the lives of those who astonished the world by their resistance and bravery. Mumtaz Haidari has made a good and a valuable initiative. We congratulate warmly women on their special day. We owe much to those women who have sacrificed their lives and the lives of their loved ones for our Kurdistan. The spirit of those women will shine forever to achieve freedom for every single individual.
