Trying Again to Stop Time is selected poems published on February 18, 2015. The poems chronicle the path of exile and estrangement from beloved Kurdistan to Canada. The poems speak of important topics such as the delicate dance that happens in the face of censorship, war and oppression. The book is composed of previously published poems such as Trying Again to Stop Time 2009; I want to be named Home 2007, In Memory of a Person Swept by the Wind 2006, The Rain of Commission 2002, No Warmth 1985, and The Evening Snow Dance 1979. The book also includes recent poems translated from Jalal's new collection (Together, Alone) which was published in 2015 by the University of Alberta. The Marketing Department at the University will be working with its distributors to promote the book across the world including Wayne State University Press (WSUP) in the United States and Gazelle in Europe. This is Jalal's second published book in English. The Man in Blue Pajamas was Jalal's first book that was published in 2011 by the same publisher in Canada.
