Kurdistan President Massoud Barzani visited Peshmerga frontlines during the Newroz celebrations and announced that the Kurdish forces are fighting with a new strategy.

On the first day of Newroz on Saturday, Bar- zani visited the family of the martyred Peshmerga fighter Hujam Surchi, who was recently beheaded by the Islamic State barbarians.

"I considered it necessary to visit you because I am not able to visit each martyr's families. I want- ed to commemorate Newroz with you," Barzani told the family.

Barzani wanted to assure the families of the martyred Peshmerga fighters that his thoughts are with them.

"Martyrs' families should be proud since martyrdom cannot be gained by everyone. Martyr Hujam Surchi is the symbol of defense for Kurdish Peshmerga fighters. He will stay in our hearts forever."

In the same day, Barzani visited Kurdish Peshmerga Forces at the frontlines to closely observe the situation.

During the meetings, the Peshmerga commanders gave the President detailed information about Peshmerga plans and preparations to defeat the IS.

Barzani advised the Peshmerga and the security forces not to mistreat the enemy's dead bodies. He also reiterated his commitment to protecting Kurdistan and the Kurdish flag from any threat from anyone.
