President Barzani receives delegation from KNC in Syria
On April 9, President of Kurdistan Region, Massoud Barzani, received a delegation from the Kurdish National Council (KNC) in Syria including Hamid Darwish, the Kurdish Democratic Progressive Party Secretary, Saud Mullah, the Secretary of the Kurdistan Democratic Party and Mr. Ibrahim, Secretary of the Kurdish Union Party.
In the meeting, the guest delegation thanked President Barzani for his active role in the political and the general situation in Western Kurdistan. They appreciated his attempts for the preservation of the unity of the Kurdish entities in this part of Kurdistan.
President Barzani discussed the real threat of terrorism in this complex phase in Syria and also focused on the necessity of unity between the Kurdish parties, stressing the principle of fraternity and interdependence between all parties for the sake of serving the Kurdish issue.
The meeting also shed light on the terrorist threats on West Kurdistan and the looming threats that may lead to demographic changes in the Kurdish areas. They agreed that the seriousness of the concerns arising from the lack of agreement between the parties and the terrorist threats will endanger Kurdish status in Rojava.
