Mas­rour Barzani and Canadian Am­bas­sador dis­cuss bi­lat­eral re­la­tions

Mas­rour Barzani called on the Canadian Am­bas­sador to Iraq and Jor­dan Bruno Sac­co­mani to work to­gether in or­der to de­feat and push back ISIS ter­ror­ists and im­prove the bi­lat­eral re­la­tions be­tween their two coun­tries.

The Chan­cel­lor of the Kur­dis­tan Re­gion’s Se­cu­rity Coun­cil re­ceived the Canadian Am­bas­sador and his ac­com­pa­ny­ing del­e­ga­tion to dis­cuss to the lat­est se­cu­rity and po­lit­i­cal de­vel­op­ments in Iraq and the bi­lat­eral po­lit­i­cal and eco­nomic re­la­tions, as well as the mil­i­tary and hu­man­i­tar­ian as­sis­tance pro­vided by Canada to the Kur­dis­tan Re­gion.

Em­pha­siz­ing on the im­por­tance of co­op­er­a­tion in the war against ISIS, Mas­rour Barzani said: “We are friends and part­ners. We need to work to­gether to de­feat and push back ISIS ter­ror­ists and im­prove our re­la­tions.”

On his part, Am­bas­sador Sac­co­mani shared his hap­pi­ness with his host re­gard­ing the great progress in Kur­dis­tan. “The de­vel­op­ments we wit­ness in ar­eas of pol­i­tics, econ­omy and hu­man re­sources here please us. We do con­sider it very im­por­tant and do want to work with you to fur­ther de­velop the re­la­tions be­tween Kur­dis­tan and Canada.”
