President Barzani meets of Shabaks and Turkmens
President Barzani for Shabak Kurds: Kurdistan door open for Shabak refugees Presidnet Barzani to Turkmens in Talafer: Those who have cooperated with IS will have the same destiny that IS will have
The President of Kurdistan Region, Masoud Barzani, met with several personalities of Shabak Kurds from Nineveh plain areas on April 22.
During the meeting Barzani has talked about the security issues since the beginning of ISIS attacks. He also has shed light on the victories achieved by peshmerga forces and the weakening of ISIS.
Barzani promised that next steps will be permanently expelling ISIS fighters from the region.
"You suffered a lot from injustice and oppression at the hands of ISIS, before ISIS and even during Baath period; it is not difficult to liberate your region. But without addressing the problem of Mosul, it is difficult to live there even if liberated. These areas will be liberated and you will return to your homes with honor and dignity," stated Barzani
Iraqi Parliament member Salim Shabaki, who attended the meeting, said that Barzani has promised to form to battalions for the Shabak Kurds in addition the battalion recently formed. The battalions will be armed and directly supervised by Peshmerga Ministry.
According to Shabaki, Brazani has said in the meeting that Kurdistan door is open for those Shabak Kurds who have left Nineveh and based in Najaf in Karbala.
On April 24, president Barzani also met with several personalities of Turkmens from Talafer area.
Barzani said that several areas that were controlled by IS have been retaken by Peshmerga forces. "The existence of IS in the areas of Turkmens is just temporal. All the areas will be librated soon," stated Barzani
Barzani said after retak- ing the areas, people can go back to their areas and live peacefully but those who have cooperated with IS will have the same destiny that IS will have.
Meanwhile the attendees appreciated Barzani's role and in liberating their areas and thanked people of Kurdistan for embracing the refugees.
