President Barzani leads high-level KRG delegation to US
Kurdistan Regional President Massoud Barzani led a high-level delegation to the US. According to information revealed in Kurdish media, President Barzani left the Kurdistan Region to the United States after his meeting with Steven Harper, Canadian Prime Minister, in Erbil.
A high-level delegation consisted of the senior officials from the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) accompanied the President.
President Barzani and his accompanying delegation are expected to meet US President Barak Obama, Vice President Joe Biden and several other US officials during his weeklong visit.
According to Kurdish media, President Barzani is expected to discuss delivering more military assistance to the Kurdish Peshmarga forces, Erbil-Baghdad relations and the future of the Kurdish areas outside the KRG control after defeating the socalled the Islamic State.
The delegation consisted of Deputy to KRG Prime Minister Qubad Talabani, Minister of Peshmarga Mustaf Sayed Qadir, Minister of Natural Resources Ashty Hawrami, Head of KRG Department of Foreign Relation Falah Mustafa, Minister of Construction and Housing Darbaz Kosrat Rasul and Chief of Staff to President Barzani Dr. Faud Hussein.
