Prime Minister of Kurdistan Regional Government ( KRG) Nechirvan Barzani attended in Education Conference on Saturday in Erbil, capital of Kurdistan Region.

Speaking to an audience made up of the educational experts and advisors, PM Barzani said that the education system should be amended in order to help the country to be improved.

“Connecting Kurdistan to the world outside directly or indirectly will have its own impacts on education, health and work force.

“Life has been very difficult in Kurdistan during the past 100 years. The generation before us, even our generation did not know what will happen to us in the future,” said PM Barzani.

Regarding the current bloody war with the so-called Islamic State, known as ISIS or ISIL, Barzani said that the war has inflicted huge damage to Kurdistan. Unfortunately, some of our youths have been deceived by religious extremists and joined ISIS.”

Regarding the efforts to change and amend education system, Barzani said that: “In order to make the task of the future generation easier, we should restlessly strive to review it. An education system that is not reviewed, cannot help the country to be developed.”

“The new education system should teach the students with new methods and prepare them for the new era. They have to have special abilities and learn new sciences.”
