Swe­den to send ex­perts for train­ing Pehsmerga

Swe­den is con­sid­er­ing send­ing ex­perts and train­ers t to sup­port Pesh­merga forces in the fight against Is­lamic State (ISIS) in Iraq.

On June 3, a bill was ap­proved by the Swedish par­lia­ment con­cern­ing sup­port­ing Kur­dish Pesh­merga forces.

Based on the bill, the Swedish Gov­ern­ment will be en­gaged in train­ing mis­sions in­side the Kur­dis­tan Re­gion through send­ing 120 qual­i­fied high rank­ing of­fi­cers and train­ers to Er­bil for train­ing Pesh­merga forces.

Kur­dis­tan Re­gional Gov­ern­ment's (KRG) Rep­re­sen­ta­tive in Swe­den, Sor­ish Qader Ra­heem, said "The de­ci­sion of send­ing train­ers by Swedish Par­lia­ment to Kur­dis­tan Re­gion is very im­por­tant. It is not only cru­cial in mil­i­tary re­spects, but it is vi­tal in po­lit­i­cal val­ues as well."
