Ahle Haq: Kurdistan Region should declare independence

The Kurdish Globe - - NEWS -

Qays Khaz Ali, the General Secretary of Ahle Haq, stated that Kurdistan Region should either declare independence as a country or should review its relations with the Iraqi government based on confederal system.

"The federal system is not suitable for the relations between Iraqi government and Kurdistan region. Federal system will not guarantee a fair distribution of resources and properties for Kurdish people," Ali said

Ali said many people in Iraq believe that Kurdistan Region gains more shares than what it deserve from the Iraqi government. This has to be corrected. Kurdistan should either declare independence as a country or should review its relations with the Iraqi government based on confederal system.

Due to disagreements on Kurdistan Region's share in the Iraqi general budget, tensions are getting deepened between the Iraqi government and Kurdistan Region. Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) has started exporting oil independently to allocate enough money for paying government employees and fulfilling public service projects.
